Welcome to my world of photography, where every click tells a story and captures a moment to cherish forever. I'm Yuan, the heart and lens behind this photography studio. My journey into the art of photography is as unique as the images I capture.

 

With a PhD in Computer Science, I spent 12 years in the realm of academia, dedicated to optimising the software engineering process through evolutionary algorithms. This experience honed my analytical skills and attention to detail, qualities that I now bring to my photography.

 

My passion for photography sparked in 2004 with my first digital camera - the Kodak DX7440. Since then, capturing the world through a lens hasn't just been a hobby; it's been my daily source of joy. This passion led me to a pivotal decision: shifting from the structured and logical world of software engineering to the creative and artistic field of photography.

 

Today, I specialise in bringing personalities to life through portrait and headshot photography, creating artistic and expressive profiles in my studio based in Watford, UK. My expertise also extends to family and events photography, where I've captured countless precious moments at conferences, sports events, birthday parties, galas, and weddings. My approach to photography is rooted in naturalism and simplicity. I prefer to use only available light, eschewing flash, to maintain the authenticity and mood of each scene. This technique, combined with strong composition, allows me to be unobtrusive, especially during events. My goal is to capture the joy and atmosphere without becoming a distraction. This enables families and guests to immerse themselves fully in the celebration, ensuring that the photographs reflect the true spirit of the occasion.
